Extraordinary George III Mahogany Secretary or Bookcase, 18th century, in the manner of Henry Kettle. Pierced cornice with broken arch pediment finishing in scrolled rosettes with centralized stop fluting. The bookcase has a pair of glass doors enclosing 3 adjustable shelves. The top shelf of the chest has crossbanding along the outer edges. The double handles of the first drawer enclose a fall front desk with three graduating drawers below. The fall front desk has a fitted interior with pigeon holes, crossbanded mahogany drawers and a leather writing surface. This spectacular secretary terminates with bracket feet. Rare to find a Secretary of this quality that is all original.
