The Whisky Shop Port Charlotte 10 Year Old

This 10 year old Islay single malt is the flagship release in Bruichladdich’s heavily peated range, Port Charlotte. Distilled, matured and bottled on Islay alone, the 10 year old has been crafted using first-fill and second-fill American whiskey casks as well as a proportion of second-fill French wine casks.The nose has the characteristic Port Charlotte smoke, with sweeter caramel, fudge and vanilla custard mingling alongside ginger, cloves and nutmeg. The palate is soft with a loose smoke and sweet coconut, vanilla, sherbet lemon and oak notes coming to the fore, with smoked oyster and sun-baked salty sand. The finish is smoky with banoffee pie, mango, apple and sweet malt.
